![]() The coast of Wales is very much in the news at the moment - living by the sea you can't help being affected by the mix of changing light, water and weather. One minute the Bristol Channel can look as blue as the Med (honestly!) the next moment it has disappeared into the gloom. Even grey and muddy it has it's own charm. Beachcombing provides masses of inspiration for jewellery designs; lots of pretty shells, lovely seaweed shapes and eroded pebbles, as well as objects like these I found on Penarth beach - I'm drawn to their colour and texture and mystery - whatever did that 12" nail hold together?! Maybe we should just keep the sea as clean as possible or it'll throw weapons as well as waves at us!
